UTECH North America 2018 is scheduled to take place Sept. 11-13, 2018, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. Organizers of the 100 percent polyurethanes trade show and conference announced a race car themed UTECH Pit Stop reception.
When the exhibition floor closes on Sept. 11, attendees will convene for UTECH Pit Stop, a Welcome Reception sponsored by The Dow Chemical Company. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet pit crew members of the No. 3 Dow Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the winning team of the 2018 Daytona 500. The crew will be signing autographs alongside a Dow race car.
Reception attendees will also be able to take a turn in the driver’s seat when they step into a state-of-the-art race car simulator provided. Offering one of the most realistic racing experiences available, attendees will discover what it’s like to drive a professional race car.
Often described as “the hidden polymer,” polyurethanes are widely used in automotive interiors and diverse other applications, including aerospace, building and construction, furniture, electrical, footwear and textiles, mining, offshore, refrigeration and specialist surgical and medical.
New conference sessions that have recently been announced for the three-day event include: “New solutions for open-pouring refrigerator doors” by Bob Biondich of Hennecke; and “Silicone chemistry: Volatility impacts & unique molecules for PU foams” by James Young and Aayush Shah of The Dow Chemical Company. Shay Sharon from Daicel will speak on the “Future of Caprolactones.”
The full schedule is located on the UTECH North America website.
