A new production line at SONGWON’s site in Suwon, South Korea for the manufacturing and distillation of SONGSORBCS 400 UV stabilizer has become operational.
Besides SONGSORBCS 400, other individual coatings additives, as well as blends of UV absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers, are produced at the site.
SONGSORBCS 400 is a liquid hydroxyphenyl triazine UV absorber designed to ensure high performance and durability in water- and solvent-borne as well as 100 percent solid automotive and industrial finishes. It has very high thermal stability and outstanding resistance in coatings exposed to high bake cycles and/or extreme external conditions. It is suitable for use in amine and metal-catalyzed coatings, substrates containing such catalysts and coatings applied on topcoats.
With a total capacity of about 1,000 metric tons, it allows fully backward integrated in-house manufacture of SONGSORBCS 400 at all stages from intermediate to finished product.
