MFG Chemical promoted Barry Lassiter to VP-operations, responsible for MFG’s three plants in the Dalton, GA area and the recently acquired 26.7-acre plant in Pasadena, TX.
Lassiter came to MFG in 2014 following nearly 40 years with Dupont and Invista to serve as director, environmental, health, safety & security (EHS&S). Under his leadership, MFG has achieved an excellent safety record at its plants; has invested in employee safety and reduction of risk through significant commitment to training and equipment; is continuously recording and reporting on key safety measures; manages a safety communications program to keep the community informed; and has won several chemical industry awards for safety.
Joe Welch joined MFG earlier this year. He will now take the lead as director.
“Barry Lassiter has done an outstanding job of making the safety ethic an integral part of our DNA here at MFG Chemical," said Keith Arnold, CEO of MFG Chemical. "Thanks to his strong manufacturing, maintenance, and safety background Barry is an excellent choice for VP-operations. As VP-operations, Barry will ensure that the safety culture he has done so much to develop will continue to predominate as the core value in everything we do. As director of EHS&S Joe Welch will continue and build upon the safety culture MFG has set in place.”
