acResin is used to manufacture specialty products in the pressure sensitive adhesives sector. These include labels for the food industry and various special adhesive tapes for the automotive and construction sector. acResin offers both high-performance application properties and sustainability advantages.

In 2018, we carried out an eco-efficiency analysis of adhesive labels for durable goods: It found that, in comparison to solvent-based adhesives, acResin-based adhesives are both the less expensive and the more sustainable solution. As a ­UV-curable 100 percent acrylic hotmelt, it contains only minimal amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and is characterized by low levels of odor and good skin compatibility. Other advantages offered by acResin are high transparency, outstanding resistance to aging and heat as well as resistance to water and chemicals. In addition, acResin helps users of adhesives to fulfill the high requirements for food contact materials.

ChemCon Asia 2019 is a global platform which brings together speakers representing companies, authorities and international organizations from 30+ countries. Presentations given by more than 50 speakers from governments and industry will focus in the field of international chemical legislation all over the world, like REACH, TSCA, GHS and country-specific information on inventories, labeling requirements, etc.

[slug] => basf-lutianhua-plan-to-pilot-new-process-that-significantly-reduces-co2-emissions [body] => BASF and Sichuan Lutianhua Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop a pilot production plant that will significantly reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency in producing dimethyl ether (DME) from syngas compared to the traditional process. DME is a methanol equivalent and can be used as an intermediate to produce lower olefins like ethylene and propylene. Currently, DME is produced via methanol as an intermediate from syngas.
 
According to the MoU, Lutianhua will invest and build the plant with a step-change technology that is developed by BASF and Linde. BASF will supply new, high-performance catalyst systems that enable one-step conversion of syngas to DME while Linde will provide its newly developed process design and engineering for direct DME synthesis. The pilot plant is planned to be built in 2020. The cooperation has been facilitated by the newly established Open Innovation Platform of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF).
 
As a major chemical producer in China, Lutianhua is one of the first companies to adopt advanced technologies and techniques to produce synthetic ammonia and urea with natural gas as a raw material. “We have well-established production capabilities and are always keen to apply new technologies and processes,” said Tan Guangjun, Chairman of Lutianhua. “We are excited to work with BASF in making the production of key chemicals more environmentally friendly.”
 
The step-change process is enabled by the new, high-performance catalyst systems developed by BASF researchers. Linde’s novel process design is providing significant energy and CO2 emission reductions. BASF and Linde jointly developed the new direct DME synthesis technology over the past few years.

Over the years, Jonsson has served as a member of several industry and company boards, including the Institute of Polymer Processing, Plastics Europe Germany and Paltough Industries Ltd. in Israel. Currently, he serves on the board for Variety the Children’s Charity of Pittsburgh.

BCF will make its inaugural appearance at ChemCon Asia 2019 in Seoul, South Korea. 
 
Ellen Daniels, BCF’s head of Public Affairs and Policy, will be representing the organization. 
 
Daniels will present on several topics of vital importance to the coatings industry, including Brexit, risk management measures, and transparency in the supply chain. Innovation and flexibility to political change form intricate parts of the strategy for the coatings industry’s future, particularly as it will compete on a global level following the UK’s departure from the EU.
 
ChemCon Asia 2019 is a global platform which brings together speakers representing companies, authorities and international organizations from 30+ countries. Presentations given by more than 50 speakers from governments and industry will focus in the field of international chemical legislation all over the world, like REACH, TSCA, GHS and country-specific information on inventories, labeling requirements, etc.

[slug] => basf-lutianhua-plan-to-pilot-new-process-that-significantly-reduces-co2-emissions [body] => BASF and Sichuan Lutianhua Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop a pilot production plant that will significantly reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency in producing dimethyl ether (DME) from syngas compared to the traditional process. DME is a methanol equivalent and can be used as an intermediate to produce lower olefins like ethylene and propylene. Currently, DME is produced via methanol as an intermediate from syngas.
 
According to the MoU, Lutianhua will invest and build the plant with a step-change technology that is developed by BASF and Linde. BASF will supply new, high-performance catalyst systems that enable one-step conversion of syngas to DME while Linde will provide its newly developed process design and engineering for direct DME synthesis. The pilot plant is planned to be built in 2020. The cooperation has been facilitated by the newly established Open Innovation Platform of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF).
 
As a major chemical producer in China, Lutianhua is one of the first companies to adopt advanced technologies and techniques to produce synthetic ammonia and urea with natural gas as a raw material. “We have well-established production capabilities and are always keen to apply new technologies and processes,” said Tan Guangjun, Chairman of Lutianhua. “We are excited to work with BASF in making the production of key chemicals more environmentally friendly.”
 
The step-change process is enabled by the new, high-performance catalyst systems developed by BASF researchers. Linde’s novel process design is providing significant energy and CO2 emission reductions. BASF and Linde jointly developed the new direct DME synthesis technology over the past few years.
