The British Coatings Federation (BCF) on Nov. 28 announced the winners of the 10th annual BCF 2019 Coatings Industry Awards.
Three new categories were introduced for 2019, including Diversity and Inclusion. That award was won by Inktech.
U-POL received the Marketing Campaign of the Year award while Brannon Lee of Dacrylate Paints was Apprentice of the Year.
Inktech's Dayne Fletcher won the Young Leader of the Year Award. Mark Mills from Whitford (which is now a part of PPG) was named Student of the Year.
PPG (Architectural Coatings UK & Ireland) received the Excellence in Training Award and the Sustainable Innovation Award.
BCF’s long-standing Coatings Care Awards were presented to two BCF member companies participating in the program – the Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Award went to AkzoNobel Packaging for its site in Birmingham; Coatings Care Progress was awarded to Whitford in Runcorn.
AkzoNobel and Inktech shared the Customer Service Award.
HMG Paints won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
“At such an unsettling time for our industry, it was great to come together in order to celebrate all that is fantastic in the coatings industry, with the event continuing to grow year by year," said Tom Bowtell, BCF chief executive. "The competition was the toughest yet, so many congratulations to all those who were shortlisted, but especially to the winners.”
