AMI will host the 2021 edition of the Pipeline Coating conference online.
The Pipeline Coating Virtual Summit is focused on polymeric coatings and their protection for offshore and onshore steel pipelines for the energy industries including oil, gas and water, according to AMI.
Taking place over three half days on May 4-6, 2021, from 1 p.m. CET, the event and its accompanying virtual exhibition offer accessibility for a global audience, who will be able to participate from the safety of their home or office.
According to AMI, the event attracts operators & asset owners, contractors and lay engineers, raw material suppliers, pipe coaters, specifiers, machinery suppliers, researchers and testing and certification organizations.
Saudi Aramco, Total, TechnipFMC, BP, Borouge Pte, BOTAS Petroleum, Chelpipe, Enbridge, ExxonMobil, Ghana Gas, Qatar Gas, Saipem, TC Energy have already confirmed their attendance, AMI said.
The program has been selected by an Advisory Board that includes:
- Denis Melot from Total;
- Suresh Choudhary from Shawcor;
- Somaieh Salehpour from Seal For Life Industries;
- Jeffrey D. Rogozinski from Sherwin-Williams;
- Thomas Stark from Borealis;
- Mike Surkein from Surkein Corrosion;

According to AMI, polymeric coatings and protection for pipelines create a complex challenge for the steel pipe industry.
From factory and in-situ coating procedures and machinery, to a trained and skilled workforce, coaters must also consider that the materials need to offer performance and longevity through extreme conditions while providing anti-corrosion properties, all the time conforming to local, national and global standards, AMI said.
The agenda will focus on the latest developments in coatings, how the industry is changing and what challenges it is facing. Other topics include selecting the best coating for service, pipeline lifetime considerations and the latest industry innovations.
New for 2021: The event will see the new addition of an Operator & Contractor Clinic.
Free delegate places are only available until April 16, 2021.
