Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring launched Accelera One, an advanced coating technology that sets a new standard for decorative flake and quartz flooring systems. Designed to meet the rigorous demands of commercial and institutional environments, the unique urethane chemistry of the clear grout and topcoat delivers unmatched performance, ease of application and industry-leading chemical resistance.
Accelera One is an ultra-high-solids coating that cures rapidly, enabling the application of two coats within the same day while also providing extended working time for installers. Its strong resistance to harsh chemicals and sterilants makes the versatile product an ideal solution for sensitive environments such as pharmaceutical, biotech, life science and healthcare facilities.
“As a cutting-edge innovation in ultra-high-solids polymer chemistry, Accelera One not only simplifies the flooring installation process but also ensures long-lasting protection and aesthetic appeal in the most demanding environments,” says Casey Ball, Global Marketing Director for Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring. “It clearly represents our commitment to delivering high-performance solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs.”

Key features of Accelera One include:
- Fast cure and long working time: In typical ambient temperatures, Accelera One features an extended application time of 20 minutes yet cures quickly – allowing for foot traffic within two hours at 8 mils applied thickness – enabling facilities to resume normal operations.
- Ease of application: A simple application process – using squeegee and backroll techniques – combined with sufficient open time and a flexible recoat window of two to 48 hours eases the pressure typically associated with installation of fast-curing products.
- Adjustable cure: Cure time can be modified conveniently based on ambient conditions.
- Low VOC and ultra-high-solids: With less than 50 grams per liter of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Accelera One is Environmental Protection Agency-compliant across North America and free of “Red List” chemicals.
- Outstanding chemical resistance: Accelera One offers exceptional resistance to many harsh chemicals and biopharma sterilants and is UV-stable indoors, ensuring long-lasting performance.
