Job purpose:
The Delta-V Engineer provides the plant with a stable and reliable
Distributed Control System (DCS), and utilizes this system for process optimization, improved alarm management, enhanced data reporting and other manufacturing improvement activities. The Delta-V Engineer is a key member of the Provox to DeltaV Migration project team. Responsibilities include testing converted programming, implementing programming changes, and supporting all phases of the project including checkout, start-up, and optimization. S/he will also provide process engineering support and assistance to the Prefere Melamines manufacturing operation at the Indian Orchard site.

Job purpose:

Duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the integrity and reliability of the DCS hardware and software to ensure continued safe operation of plant.
- Provide engineering support and guidance to manufacturing operations to address daily and near term operating issues related to plant reliability and quality requirements, in compliance with relevant safety regulations, standards and procedures to assure safe and compliant plant operations.
- Monitor processes to ensure equipment is operated within design limits.
- Troubleshoot issues and develop and implement preventative procedures and solutions. Generate innovative process improvement ideas.
- Modify relevant operating procedures and other documentation and conduct operator training as needed.
- Help develop the Mimic Model, conduct Factory Acceptance Testing of the converted DeltaV programming, and create graphic displays in support of the DeltaV Migration project.
- Provide shift coverage during the DeltaV Migration project checkout and start-up phases.
- Implement DeltaV programming changes in support of new projects and products.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external resources and assist in coordinating efforts toward achievement of production goals.
- Provide 24-hr process support availability for the on-call rotation.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of related work experience
- Minimum of 2 years professionally working with Delta-V.
- Organized, self-motivated individual able to handle fluctuating volumes of work with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Requires good working knowledge of computer, Microsoft office programs and spreadsheet applications.
- DeltaV programming experience required. ProVOX programming experience desirable.
- Must be able to interact, communicate and work effectively with individuals throughout the organization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to travel if needed.
