Job Description:
- Independently evaluate and formulate energy curable inks and coatings dispersions (UV, EB)
- Communicate directly with customers (primarily email and phone)
- Systematically solve formulation problems, research alternatives and provide proposals to supervision for discussion and/or approval
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and report work in an organized manner to supervision
- Run laboratory equipment independently
- Participate in technical and non-technical teams (sometimes leading those teams)
- Be willing to accept help and reach out for assistance when necessary
- 5-10% travel (conferences and customer visits)
- Work in a safe environment and within ISO 9001 guidelines
- Handle all other duties as assigned
Your Education will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science field
- 5 years’ experience working with UV curable materials (acrylic monomers, oligomers, photo initiators and inhibitors)
- Proficient at operating lab processing equipment – Mills, Dispersers, Mixers, etc., as well as testing equipment for physicals (solids, density, color, tint strength, etc.)
- Knowledge of pigments/colorants preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work closely with customers in fulfilling their needs and identifying research opportunities for future growth
- Self-starter, comfortable working independently or in a group
- Good interpersonal skills for external and internal communication
- Functional experience with MS Office applications
