Job Description:
Shamrock Technologies is seeking an experienced and talented Development Chemist to join our product technical team. This role conducts and coordinates product and process development, application testing, and material evaluation methods to support the advancement of our markets and product lines.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the properties and performance of formulations.
- Analyze data to identify trends, make informed recommendations, develop applications, methods, and product formulas.
- Analyze raw materials and products to determine their chemical and physical properties, preparing lab samples according to formulas and experimental procedures, qualifying and assessing the value of new materials through laboratory testing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and marketing, to ensure product viability and compliance with regulations.
- Assist QC in resolving customer complaints related to applications.
- Provide technical expertise, product recommendations, formulation support, and troubleshooting for the sales team and customers.
- Provide training and guidance for lab technicians and interns.
- Ensure all lab equipment and instruments are used in a safe and clean manner; properly maintain lab areas, storage areas, and equipment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or related scientific field, is required; Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience of work in a laboratory setting is required; experience in formulating materials is strongly preferred.
- Technical: understanding of basic chemistry terminology and its relationships to the delivery of materials.
- Analytical: collects and researches data; uses knowledge and experience to complement data and design workflow and procedures.
- Problem solving: identifies and resolves problems in a timely matter; gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions.
