There is strong interest in sustainability in the paint and coatings industry. For Allnex, that fits well within the company’s approach, even as companies deal with supply chain challenges.
Robert Skarvan, global marketing director for Allnex, noted that Allnex has virtually every resin needed for coatings and inks, and as a global supplier, is well positioned to meet the needs of customers worldwide.
“The whole world is struggling with supply issues,” Skarvan said. “We can leverage capac-ities in different regions. We’re offering sustainable solutions and are getting people thinking about resins such as waterborne alkyds. They have bio-renewable content that are tried and true and are available.
“We have a lot of sustainable solutions today and even more coming in the future,” Skarvan added. “In addition, we are also using safer materials and lower costs for energy curing systems like UV LED.”
As an example, Skarvan pointed to a new CPO modified acrylic for the automotive indus-try.
“One of our newest sustainability product offerings is our new chlorinated polyolefin (CPO) modified acrylic, which allows the user to skip the chlorinated polyolefin primer layer for automotive bumpers and plastics,” Skarvan noted.
