The event featured a run down of the 2020 Global Color and Design Trends, a panel consisting of Leanne Ford (HGTV’s “Restored by the Fords”), Vicente Wolf (Vicente Wolf Associates), Justin Gunther (director, Fallingwater) and Sarah Fishburne (trends director, The Home Depot), as well as an immersive experience with "the evolution of color."
“Trends get you to think,” Fishburne told the crowd.
PPG Color Expert Dee Schlotter mentioned how societal events, lifestyle trends, customer preference and demographics all play a role in color popularity.
“It’s all about the why,” she said. “This event helps our color forecasting and all of the types of trending we do for everyone from hospitality to new home to multi-family. We take all of this content, all this history, all of this research, and apply it to all the different areas of our business.”
PPG also unveiled new survey data about color preferences and how color impacts the world around us.
According to the survey, a majority of people notice the scent of a room before they notice the color.
