Methods for Making Polyurethanes as Thin Films
l Patent No. U.S. 6,506,461 B2
Battelle Memorial Institute, Richland, WA, has received a patent for a method of making a thin film of a polyurethane comprising flash evaporating a solventless monomer mixture that is a combination of a polyol and a polyisocyanate by contact with a heated surface under vacuum to form a vapor; condensing the monomer mixture onto a substrate under vacuum in a vacuum chamber; and curing the monomer mixture as a film of the polyurethane.
