Product name: DCP Nanostar
Attributes/comments: The new Drais DCP Nanostar Media Mill is, specifically, designed to produce the nanomaterials previously unattainable. The highly efficient energy utilization during nano-grinding via the use of ultra-small grinding media (down to 20 micron), superior product temperature control and the elimination of metal contamination are some of the key features of the new Nanostar. DCP Nanostar offers high energy density milling, internal true-media recirculation and the most efficient grinding media/product separation by centrifugal force. Drais DCP Nanostar sets new standards in wet grinding of high tech products down to nanometer range. Various sizes are available with linear mill scale up based on power consumption.

Product name: New Grinding Media of Zirconium Oxide – Rare Earth Stabilized
Attributes/comments: Glen Mills Inc. is introducing a new grinding media of Zirconium Oxide Rare Earth stabilized composition that gives mill users advantages over currently available beads. This material is 83% ZrO / 13% CeO with specific gravity 6.0-6.1. A longer bead life is assured due to the very fine grain size of the ceramic. The smooth surface, even as material is worn away, and very good roundness to roll, not gouge, will protect wetted mill parts. The high density to plough through the thickest of slurries allows for using smaller diameters. Soon to be stocked in NJ with competitive pricing, the extremely tight size tolerance, and expansive size offerings makes these worth a test.

Product name: Nano Mill
Attributes/comments: After extensive R&D, Hockmeyer Equipment has made rapid nano milling a reality. This is accomplished by mega amplification of feedstock recirculation through a field of micro media to produce nano dispersions in a fraction of the time of conventional horizontal and vertical mills. The Hockmeyer Containment Wall (patents pending) permits the use of media as small as .01mm and has an open area of about 40%. The containment wall is very large relative to the media field, allowing high flow of feedstock. Comparing the HCW to other mill separation devices, it has on average 100 times the flow rate.

New Product: ZirTa-Nor, Zirconia Toughened Alumina Beads
Attributes/comments: ZirTa-Nor, ZTA, is a long wearing, medium density media with low wear rates and excellent milling efficiencies prices in the same range as zirconia silica. This bead does not have hollows which cause excessive breakage and screen plugging. ZirTa-Nor is an excellent value for medium density grinding media, giving a long service life for minimal cost and no trace amounts of radioactivity. The whit bead has a 4.1 (2.5 kg/liter) density and is avaliable in sizes from 0.6 mm up to 3.0 mm. The beads are pre-conditioned and approved for use in food and cosmetic applications. Balls and cylinders are also available upon special order.
