Pierre-Yves Jullien, CEO of Hempel A/S since 2005, has decided to retire after nearly 40 years in the Group in order to spend more time with his family and on other activities. He will step down from his role as CEO on 31 March 2016 at the latest.
The Board of Directors of Hempel A/S has initiated a search for a new CEO of the Group. The Board of Directors and the new CEO will focus on making sure that the Group continues down its path of strong growth and development. It will build on the achievements over the last ten years, and maintain in full compliance with the key values inherited from the Group’s founder, J.C. Hempel.
The Board of Directors is confident that the success of the Group will attract the optimal candidate for the position as new CEO, and will work to ensure a professional and smooth transition.
By focusing on the business and the staff – including new colleagues from Schaepman in the Netherlands and Jones Blair in the US – the Board of Directors is convinced that the Group will continue to reach new sales records and will pass revenue of DKK 10 billion (EUR 1.35 billion) in 2015. This will be the best way to celebrate the Hempel Group’s 100-year anniversary and to ensure the future of the Hempel Group.
The Board of Hempel A/S is pleased to announce that Pierre-Yves Jullien has been elected to the Board of the Hempel Foundation (the sole owner of Hempel A/S), where his thorough understanding of the Group, accumulated through many years at Hempel, will be a great asset for the future.
Pierre-Yves Jullien will replace John Schwartzbach, who has reached the age limit for board members. John Schwartzbach has played an important role in the development of the Hempel Foundation during his time on the Board of the Hempel Foundation.
