Axalta has acquired a state of the art manufacturing and distribution facility in Sacramento, Calif. to support growth in its North American Industrial and Refinish businesses. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Axalta has built an industry-leading business based on listening to, and reacting to, the increasing requirements of our customer-base,” said Michael Cash, Axalta SVP and president, Industrial Coatings. “Axalta will continue to make these necessary investments to ensure we have the technologies our customers need to remain competitive and the manufacturing capability to get those products to them as quickly as possible.”
The 150,000-square foot facility has production capacity of more than 15 million gallons. Axalta will continue to produce products at the site for its Industrial Wood Coatings business and, over time, will expand production to include products for both its Industrial and Refinish coatings businesses.
“In the past three years, we have seen tremendous growth on the West Coast, at all levels of the collision repair customer base,” added Troy Weaver, Axalta VP of Refinish Americas. “This investment in capacity will enable our Refinish business to be closer to those customers and differentiate our service offering.”
