PPG announced that it was awarded a Pro-Ethics seal by the Brazil Federal Ministry of Transparency and the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU).
PPG, which operates manufacturing facilities in Sumaré, São Paulo; Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul; Pinhais, Paraná and Américo Brasiliense, São Paulo, was the only coatings company recognized in 2019.
The ministry and CGU promote ethical business conduct throughout Brazil, granting the Pro-Ethics seal to companies that demonstrate lawful business practices and operate with the highest level of fairness, transparency and integrity.
Following an extensive vetting process, the Pro-Ethics Seal Steering Committee – consisting of CGU members, independent auditors and representatives from various institutions – found that PPG met all compliance and transparency standards.
“PPG is proud to be recognized as an industry leader in ethics and transparency by the Federal Ministry of Transparency and CGU,” said Marcio Grossmann, PPG GM, Brazil. “The Pro-Ethics seal further validates our commitment to honest and ethical business conduct. Upholding our core values and providing quality goods are the bedrock of our business globally.”
“We are honored to be the only coatings company to earn a Pro-Ethics seal in 2019,” added Melina Camargo, PPG manager, compliance, Brazil. “Our ethically-driven workforce, both in Brazil and across the world, is truly the driving force behind this achievement. We look forward to meeting customers’ and society’s needs again in 2020 and beyond.”
