Sparkle Silver Elite is designed for coatings, while SparkleBright Elite is for inks.

Silberline is highlighting its new Elite extensions of its Sparkle Silver Elite Liquid Metal pigments for paints and coatings and SparkleBright Elite pigments for graphic arts and printing inks during the 2017 European Coatings Show.

The Sparkle Silver Elite Liquid Metal pigments are used in coatings ranging from automotive to industrial, and create the appearance of vacuum metallized flakes.

“These pigments have a larger particle size, but no reflection off the edges,” said Jason Kuhla, manager, technical service and product application at Silberline. “We get a visual effect that is brighter, while providing more coverage.”

Meanwhile, the SparkleBright Elite pigments nearly equal the metallic brightness of aluminum vacuum metallized flakes, according to the company.

“SparkleBright Elite pigments’ effects are very bright, particularly on rough surfaces,” said Brian Seath, project manager – inks at Silberline. “They don’t sink as much into pores. They are especially good for packaging.”
