The new distribution structure that BASF Coatings had planned to implement in the first quarter of 2005 for the sale of its Glasurit and Salcomix products in Poland is now operational. On Jan. 1, ECO.ING, based in Szczecin, succeeded Webolit as the direct sales company for refinish products in the region. BASF Coatings in Poland will in future focus on trading partners and direct sales to industrial accounts.

"We want to help our customers be even more successful," explains Peter Fischer, managing director of BASF Coatings de México. "The new facility will help us achieve that goal. This additional site simply puts BASF closer to many of its key accounts. Plus, the new paint-on-demand plant in Monterrey enables us to improve our service and shorten product delivery times to less than five days."

In addition to the production facility, the plant also has a laboratory and administrative offices.
