Altana AG has acquired Kelstar International, a privately owned Philadelphia-based company that specializes in aqueous and UV curable coatings for the printing Industry. Kelstar's products are used on folding cartons, labels, commercial advertisements and publications. 

Kelstar, which was a founded in 1987 by Steve and Harvey Kramer, had sales of $48.5 million in 2004.
