The Danish Hempel Group officially inaugurated its new paint production plant in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in Binh Duong Province, near Ho Chi Minh City. The new factory has a production capacity of three million liters a year.
"I would like to congratulate Hempel with this significant step forward in your market development here in Vietnam. Hempel is recognized as one of the world global leaders in coatings, not only within the marine sector but also a number of other key industries such oil and gas, petrochemical and power generation," said ambassador Peter Lysholt Hansen in his opening speech.
Hempel products are mainly to serve shipbuilding, petrochemical, steel structure and industrial paint industries that are developing in Vietnam, especially shipbuilding, according to the company. Vietnam's shipbuilding industry predicts an annual growth of 30%, creating an investment opportunity for foreign companies, including paint firms.
The Vietnam facility is Hempel's fourth manufacturing plant in South East Asia.
