Four companies have joined the PPG Certified Applicator Program (PPG/CAP). They are:
• Anacolor Inc., Cap Rouge, Quebec, Canada, a quality custom liquid and powder extrusion coater serving the Canadian market;
• Kawneer Company, Inc., Norcross, GA, a manufacturer of architectural aluminum building products and systems with U.S. locations in Bloomsburg, PA, Hernando, MI, Springdale, AK, and Visalia, CA, and Canadian facilities in Lethbridge, Alberta, and Scarborough, Ontario;
• Southern Aluminum Finishing Co., Atlanta, GA, among the nation's most complete sources for aluminum finishing products and services, operating the only service center in the country with anodizing and painting facilities, a full-time fabrication center, and a stock of sheet and extrusions; and
• Windsor Metal Finishing, Kissimmee, FL, which supplies a wide range of fabricated metal specialties including aluminum balcony railings, louvers, sun screens, geodesic space frames and roofing panels.
The four companies are part of a group of applicators certified by PPG to apply exterior Duranar high-performance fluoropolymer coatings. PPG/CAP members undergo a rigorous auditing process that encompasses all aspects of the coating process, from cleaning and pretreating the metal substrate to applying the coating. The audit also contains a continuous training and education component, and specifies paint application parameters, cure schedules and how finished products should be handled, packed and shipped.
The program enhances the ability of coatings applicators to meet building industry demands for value-added products and solutions. It offers architects, general contractors, glazing contractors and other customers the highest levels of quality, reliability and performance.
