Celanese Emulsion Polymers will greet the coatings world with technology and expertise as they gather at CHINACOAT 2009 in Shanghai, November 18-20. “Asia is an important growth region for Celanese and CHINACOAT is a vital industry event that affords us the opportunity to hold discussions with customers from China, India, Southeast Asia and Australia; all in one place,” said Kevin Wu, commercial director for Celanese Emulsions Asia. Celanese will also be celebrating its recent emulsions manufacturing expansion announcement at its booth E2E21.
“Celanese Emulsion Polymers has enjoyed good success throughout China in recent years, and we will continue our growth plans throughout Asia in the coming years. We look forward to discussing our recently announced expansion plans to double our vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) capacity at our Nanjing, China site in 2011 with customers at the show,” Wu said. “Our VAE expansion marks another major investment by Celanese into the region where the company already has six units at its integrated complex in Nanjing." Celanese Corporation is also slated to complete its Shanghai Commercial and Technology Center in 2010 in order to further expand its business presence and local technical support in the Asian region.
Celanese, along with DuPont and Evonik, will also host a customer technical and marketing seminar on November 19. At this event, coatings manufacturers will learn first-hand about the technologies offered by the three host companies. “Celanese will present information on EcoVAE emulsions and how they are instrumental in formulating paints that are low in odor and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). We will also discuss ways for paint producers to best position these environmentally-friendly, 'paints of the future' to the consumer so that they gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” Wu said.
Celanese offers a variety of emulsion systems (VAE, vinyl acrylic, pure acrylic, vinyl acetate/versatate) to handle the wide range of architectural coatings applications including: interior decorative paints, exterior coatings and waterborne wood stains. Celanese technical, sales and marketing personnel from around the globe will be available at CHINACOAT 2009 to discuss how the company’s emulsions and technical expertise can assist paint manufacturers in meeting their performance and marketing goals for 2010 and beyond.
