Toyota has endorsed the worldwide use of clearcoats from the Global Refinish System, Deltron GRS and Nexa Autocolor coatings product lines from PPG's automotive refinish business for repair of Lexus LS vehicles. The approved products are Global Refinish System D8126 clearcoat, D8122 CeramiClear clearcoat, Nexa Autocolor P190-6490 clearcoat and Nexa Autocolor P190-6512 SR ceramic clearcoat. Lexus recently adopted a newly developed OEM clear coating for its LS models. The clearcoat features two-component, cross-linking urethane with a softer, finer, more flexible structure to provide better protection against chipping and to make repairs easier. Use of the approved PPG refinish products throughout the Toyota distribution network will help to maintain the characteristics of the new Lexus production clearcoat. Global Refinish System D8126 and D8122 CeramiClear clearcoats are new-generation finishes that use innovative nanoparticle technology to provide exceptional mar and scratch resistance. Nexa Autocolor P190-6490 clearcoat and Nexa Autocolor P190-6512 SR ceramic clearcoat are high-solids formulations that are also extremely mar- and scratch-resistant. All four products create a glasslike, hard surface for superior gloss retention and subsequent customer satisfaction. The Global Refinish System D8126 and Nexa Autocolor P190-6490 clearcoats are intended for use in the United States and Canada. Lexus repairers in Europe and all other regions will use D8122 CeramiClear clearcoat and Nexa Autocolor P190-6512 SR ceramic clearcoat.
