Perstorp raises costs for Capa caprolactone monomers and polymers, and purified isophthalic acid

Published February 10, 2012
Perstorp said it is increasing the price for its Capa caprolactone monomers and polymers by up to €200/ton in Europe; £170/ton in UK; US$0.12/lb in North America; ¥20/kg in Japan; and US$260/ton in Asia and the rest of the world effective from March 1, 2012.

The company said the price increase is necessitated by increasing raw material prices that cannot be absorbed.

Perstorp also increased price for purified isophthalic acid (PIA) by US$200/MT (or €150/MT) in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and Europe with effect from February 1, 2012 or as existing contracts permit.

The price increase is necessary due to higher operating costs mainly from raw materials and energy prices. Monthly prices continue to be offered only said the company.
