Rockwood Specialties, Inc.: Princeton, NJ-based Rockwood Specialties, Inc. has announced the appointment of Vernon S. Sumner to the position of managing director of the specialty producer’s clay-based additives division. Mr. Sumner will also serve as president of Southern Clay Products, Inc., Rockwood’s U.S.-based rheologicals manufacturer. His responsibilities will include managing the company’s clay-based additives businesses, including Southern Clay Products, Inc., Rockwood Additives Ltd. and Rockwood Specialties Pte Ltd.
