l Degussa’s aerosil and silanes business unit is offering a non-sacrificial, penetrating treatment, Protectosil Antigraffiti, to protect building surfaces from damage by graffiti. Protectosil Antigraffiti repels paint and ink and can be applied to a variety of facade surfaces without altering their appearance, according to the company.
Surfaces protected with Protectosil Antigraffiti are resistant to weathering and ultra-violet radiation. In addition, the irreversible chemical bond between Protectosil Antigraffiti and the surface to which it is applied repels water and oil and helps to reduce the growth of microorganisms, algae and moss, according to the company.
