Chromium-Free Wood Preservatives

Weyl GmbH, has received a patent for a chromium-free wood preservative consisting of one to 35% by weight of a mixture of 25 to 75 parts by weight of a fatty amine ethoxylate and 75 to 25 parts by weight of at least one member of the group consisting of an unsaturated fatty acid of three to 25 carbon atoms and their copper and zinc salts and water. Additionally it contains one to 35% by weight of a water-soluble salt of a member selected from the group of copper, zinc and boron wherein the copper or zinc is complexed with a member selected from the group consisting of ammonia, amines and alkanol amines.
