Patent No. U.S. 6,512,044 B1
BASF has been granted a patent for a coating composition comprising one or more polyester resins, one or more polyacrylate resins, one or more di- and/or polyisocyanates having free or blocked isocyanate groups, one or more light stabilizers (L1) based on a UV absorber, one or more light stabilizers (L2) based on sterically hindered amines, and one or more organic solvents, where the polyester has an OH number of from 80 to 200 mg KOH/g and an acid number less than 10 mg KOH/g. The polyacrylate resin has an OH number ranging from 80 to 200 mg KOH/g and an acid number less than 20 mg KOH/g. The light stabilizer (L2) based on sterically hindered amines is amino ether functionalized, and the light stabilizer (L1) is included herein in an amount of at least three percent by weight, based on the coating composition.
