BASF: Raineer Michael Blair has been
named group vice president, coatings
in North America. His appointment
was effective Nov. 1.
Mr. Blair, who had been head of automotive
OEM coatings unit for BASF
Coatings in Münster, has relocated to
the company’s research and administration
complex in Southfield, MI. He
will be responsible for BASF Coatings
business in North America and will
have global responsibility for the automotive
OEM coatings unit.
Mr. Blair succeeds Martin
Laudenbach, who has been appointed
president of BASF’s fine chemical global
business unit, effective Dec. 1. Mr.
Laudenbach will relocate to the company’s
headquarters in Ludwigshafen.
Gerold Mahr will succeed Mr. Blair as
head of automotive OEM coatings. Dr.
Mahr had been director, BASF Coatings
de México S.A. de C.V., based in
Tultitlán, Mexico.
Peter Alexander Fischer has been
selected to succeed Dr. Mahr. Mr.
Fischer, who joined BASF Coatings in
1988, was most recently director, operations
and site manager at Tultitlán.
