Akzo Nobel: Rinus Rooseboom

Akzo Nobel has
appointed Rinus
Rooseboom, former
senior group director
coatings, to the
position of general
manager of the car
refinishes business
unit. He will
succeed Cor de
Grauw who will be heading the
Nobilas unit.
Rooseboom started his career at
Akzo Nobel in 1970. In 1986, he
became executive vice president of the
divisional board of Akzo Coatings. In
1994 he was appointed general manager
of the decorative coatings south business
unit. He became senior group
director coatings in 2000 with specific
responsibility at group level for technology
and engineering, health, safety
and environmental affairs, information
management, research and development
and purchasing.
Akzo Nobel has also announced
that Bill McPherson, currently general
manager of the powder coatings
business unit, will be appointed general
manager of the marine and protective
coatings business unit. He will
succeed Leif Darner who has been proposed
for appointment to the Akzo
Nobel board of management, pending
approval by the annual general meeting
of shareholders. Rob Molenaar,
currently general manager car refinishes
North America, will succeed
McPherson as general manager of the
powder coatings business unit. Both
appointments are effective May 1.
