SHERWIN-WILLIAMS ACQUIRES Maker of PURDY Brushes
Sherwin-Williams has acquired privately held Paint Sundry Brands Corp., a maker of brushes and rollers for professional and DIY markets, in a deal valued at $295 million, including the assumption of certain financial obligations at closing
Paint Sundry’s line of brushes and rollers includes Purdy, Bestt Liebco and Symphony brands.
“The well-known quality associated with the Purdy and Bestt Liebco brands will give us a strong branded presence in the important coatings applicator category,” said Christopher M. Connor, chairman and CEO of Sherwin-Williams. “The acquisition strengthens the continued implementation of our coatings growth strategy, which is to provide high quality products and services to professional paint contractors and DIY users in various channels of distribution.”
Connor said Paint Sundry Brands, which is based in Philadelphia, will also enhance Sherwin-Williams’ coatings applicator manufacturing and distribution infrastructure.
