Eastman Chemical Company has received a patent for UV-curable, non-chlorinated adhesion promoter/primer compositions for improved adhesion of paint, inks and adhesives to plastics and metals giving good solvent and water resistance. These waterborne and solventborne modified polyolefin compositions contain unsaturated pendant groups, i.e. reaction product of functionalized polyolefins with ethylencially unsaturated compounds having functional groups reactions with functional groups of polyolefins, and also contain photoinitiator and optionally, other ethylencially unsaturated crosslinkng agents for UV or EB curing.
