New Brunswick, NJ-based National Paint Industries, a manufacturer of coatings serving the marine, industrial and automotive markets, has acquired the assets of the Wilson Imperial Co. of Newark, NJ and also Brooklyn, NY-based Garco Shellac & Polyurethane Corp. Wilson Imperial is a manufacturer of specialty paint products such as Wil-bond, Cleanwoode and Rapid Brush Cleaner for the professional and DIY markets. Garco is a manufacturer of polyurethane clear wood finishes for the hardwood flooring industry. “We are excited about this great opportunity to combine these two fine companies that have tremendous brands dating back to the 1930s,” said Michael Schnurr, president, National Paint Industries. “As we grow our product lines to new and existing customers, we will continue to seek out companies that complement our growth strategy and be active in the continued consolidation of the industry.”
