Pre-tax operating profit at the Color and Technolgies segment for the three months ended June 30 were up 18% to $222 million as sales rose by two percent to $1.6 billion reflecting higher local selling prices. DuPont said earnings improvement was broad-based acrose the titanium dioxide, refinish, OEM and advanced coatings product lines. For the first six months, segmental earnings before tax were down 32% year-on-year at $237 million, while sales for the half-year were $3.112 bilion compared to $3.105 billion a year ago.
