nternational Paint LLC, an Akzo Nobel company, has opened a new distribution center to serve their customers thorughout the North Central region of the U.S.
The new 20,000 square-foot facility will offer a full range of high-performance protective, marine and specialty coatings to their growing clientele in the industrial, aviation, OEM, oil and gas, chemical processing, both hydro carbon and cellulosic fire protection, mining, power and metal fabrication markets.
“Opening the St. Louis distribution center not only gives us closer proximity to our customers,” said Kevin Perego, International Paints’ protective coatings sales zone manager, “but also allows us to provide more focused service, including the ability to deliver products within as little as 24 hours of receiving an order.”
International Paints’ decision to open the new facility is the first step of a larger, long term effort to expand distribution of their high-performance protective and marine coatings throughout Illinois, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska.
According to the facility’s regional district manager, Justin Stenger, the distribution center will feature state-of-the-art technology including two automated tinting machines that accomodate both solvent- and water-based coatings.
