IRL’s PROFILE OF THE
FRENCH PAINT INDUSTRY
Information Research (IRL) has publication its report on the French paint and coatings sector titled, “A Profile of the French Paint Industry, 2nd Edition.”
France is Western Europe’s fourth-largest paint market, estimated at 916,000 tons in 2007, according to IRL’s new study. This places France in a position where it is poised to become yet another million-ton-plus market in Western Europe by 2011, and by 2012 could reach a total of nearly 1,025,000 tons. Almost all of the growth will come from the decorative sector, as the industrial segments vary in their performance between contraction, stagnation and expansion. The marine, coil and plastic finishing segments will be key areas for the future.
