Dunn-Edwards to open new technology center
Dunn-Edwards Corporation has announced plans to build a 40,000-square-foot coatings technology center on its Los Angeles, CA campus. The new facility will consolidate the paint manufacturer’s existing research, product development and quality assurance laboratories in one location.
According to Dennis Kromer, president, the center will be known as the Ken Edwards Coatings Technology Center. Ken Edwards is the company CEO and son of co-founder Arthur Edwards. “Ken has been the driving force over the years to make Dunn-Edwards a leader in R&D,” Kromer said. “The new center will serve as a foundation for us to continue to develop innovative new coatings technology and superior performing products.”
He pointed out that the center will house a 75-seat lecture hall to accommodate educational presentations and host industry and regulatory workshops. “As a leader in R&D, Dunn-Edwards has always believed in the importance of educating and inspiring others in the coatings industry.”
Dunn-Edwards has been reorganizing its laboratories to center around three teams: research, product development and quality assurance. In the new contiguous space, these teams will be able to easily integrate and collaborate. Marketing will be housed in the center, ensuring communications and outreach about product development and the new tech center are in alignment.
