Merck Patent GmbH has obtained a patent for a stabilized BiOCl pigment, which is comprised of a base BiOCl pigment which has a coating comprised of one or more polymers and a coating comprised of one or more oxides, oxide hydrates or hydroxides of silicon, wherein the coating comprised of one or more polymers and the coating comprised of one or more oxides, oxide hydrates or hydroxides of silicon are provided as separate coatings and, wherein the coating comprised of one or more oxides, oxide hydrates or hydroxides of silicon is provided on top of the coating comprised of one or more polymers.
