Union Process, a manufacturer of size reduction and dispersing equipment, has produced a new batch-type attritor that offers multiple benefits to the customer by allowing wet or dry grinding and the interchangeability of different tank sizes on one mill. The unique design means that users can operate the mill either as an SD-50 or a smaller-30 by interchanging the tanks. The energy-efficient SD-50 can handle a broad range of dry grinding applications including ceramics, carbides, metal powders, pigments, glass frits and mechanical alloying. This particular mill was constructed with an optional explosion-proof design that features explosion-proof controls and variable frequency drive that is mounted outside the hazardous area. Batch-type attritors can be used for fast, efficient grinding and repeatable results. More info: Union Process, (330) 929-3333; E-mail: eli@unionprocess.com; Web: www.unionprocess.com.
