Agion Technologies, Inc. has received a patent for a substantially color stable antimicrobial coating system comprised of an epoxy resin-based or wax-based coating composition and from approximately 1-30% weight based on the total solids content of the coating composition of an antimicrobial metal-ion containing, ion-exchange type inorganic antimicrobial agent the antimicrobial agent is comprised of from 0.1-25% weight silver ions and 0.1-25% weight copper ions, based on the weight of the antimicrobial agent, and wherein the weight ratio of the silver ions to the copper ions is from 1:10 to 10:1.
