Sika Technology AG has obtained a patent for an expandable structural reinforcing material comprised of pellets of coated glass reinforcing fibers, formed by coating glass reinforcing fibers with a molten mixture; wherein the molten mixture is comprised of at least one epoxy resin component, wherein each epoxy resin component is a solid at room temperature; at least one of a catalyst and a curing agent; and a blowing agent; and wherein the pellets are sized such that the pellets and the glass reinforcing fibers within the pellets have the same length of from 6 mm-12 mm.
