Eastman Chemical patents thermosetting polyester coating

U.S. 8,163,850 B2
Eastman Chemical Company has received a patent for a curable polyester comprised of diacid residues comprised of approximately 30-70 mole percent, of the residues of isophthalic acid and 70- 30 mole percent of the residues of adipic acid, based on the total moles of diacid residues; diol residues comprised of 50-100 mole percent, based on the total moles of diol residues, of the residues of 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol; and polyol residues comprised of 3-30 mole percent of the residues of at least one polyol, based on the total moles of diol and polyol residues; wherein the curable polyester has a number average molecular weight of 500-10,000 daltons, a glass transition temperature of  −35° C-50° C, a hydroxyl number of 20-300 mg KOH/g of polyester, and an acid number of 0 mg-80 mg KOH/g of polyester.
