Concrete Contractor magazine has honored Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring with a 2025 Concrete Contractor Top Products Award for Accelera One, a next-generation advancement in decorative concrete flooring technology. A clear urethane grout and topcoat, Accelera One delivers unprecedented application flexibility, fast return to service and exceptional chemical resistance. The product offers concrete professionals a practical solution for demanding commercial and institutional environments. The Concrete Contractor Top Products Awards honor the tools, materials and solutions that help concrete professionals work more efficiently, overcome jobsite challenges and deliver results that hold up over time. Selected through a combination of editorial review and engagement from readers on ForConstructionPros.com, the annual program highlights products that are built with contractors in mind and designed to support their success. “Accelera One is a true game-changer for contractors working in time-sensitive, high-performance environments,” said Casey Ball, Global Marketing Director, Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring. “It empowers installers with more control over the job, significantly reduces downtime and provides a high-end aesthetic that lasts. We’re pleased – but not surprised – to see it recognized as one of the industry’s top innovations of the year.” Introduced in 2024, Accelera One features a proprietary ultra-high solids urethane chemistry developed to address a longstanding challenge in resinous flooring: balancing fast cure times with sufficient working time. The system provides installers with up to 20 minutes of open time while curing to support foot traffic in approximately two hours at a typical 8 mil dry film thickness. This allows both grout and topcoat applications to be completed within a single shift – an important advantage for projects in occupied or sensitive environments such as healthcare, biotechnology, cleanrooms, education and food processing. The coating is applied using a standard squeegee and backroll method and supports a flexible two- to 48-hour recoat window – accommodating accelerated project pacing. With a recommended thickness up to 30 mils, UV stability for indoor use and a low-VOC, ultra-high solids formulation free of Red List chemicals, Accelera One meets regulatory and environmental standards throughout North America. Designed for use in active, frequently cleaned spaces, Accelera One also maintains gloss and film integrity under repeated exposure to aggressive disinfectants and sterilants. Extensive testing has confirmed its chemical resilience in settings such as hospital corridors, surgical suites and pharmaceutical production areas, where durability under rigorous sanitation protocols is essential. Accelera One serves as both the clear grout coat and topcoat in eight Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring systems, including Resuflor Deco Flake One, FasTop Deco Quartz One, Dur-A-Chip One, Hybri-Flex AQ One and others. These systems are specified for use in environments where return-to-service timelines, chemical exposure and surface durability must be addressed together. The combination of system compatibility and application flexibility supports use across a range of commercial and institutional project types. “We developed Accelera One in direct response to feedback from contractors who wanted better speed without sacrificing control or quality,” said Ball. “This award validates that approach – and reaffirms our commitment to chemistry-driven solutions that address real-world jobsite needs.” Accelera One’s selection as a Concrete Contractor Top Products Award recipient reflects its alignment with evolving contractor priorities and project demands.
