Symyx Technologies, ICI Extend R&D Collaboration l Symyx Technologies, Inc. and ICI have extended their current research and development collaboration focused on the discovery of high-value specialty polymers. Under the terms of the extended agreement, ICI will continue to fund Symyx’s discovery efforts and will have exclusive rights to commercialize materials discovered within the fields of the collaboration. Symyx will receive royalties in connection with the sale of any products commercialized under the agreement. ICI and Symyx first announced the accord in July 2000. “By extending our relationship with Symyx, we are ensuring continuing access to their high speed proprietary technologies and a competitive advantage for the discovery of new specialty materials for our products,” said Carmine Iovine, group vice president of research and development at ICI.
