AkzoNobel‘s Supervisory Board at Akzonobel’s Nov. 30 Extraordinary General Meeting was scheduled to vote for new members to fill a vacancy

However, the company on Thursday confirmed that Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited (USS) withdrew its nomination of Eric Meurice.

The Supervisory Board at the EGM was slated to vote for the appointment of Meurice or Patrick Thomas, who was nominated Oct. 18. Back in August, Sue Clark and Patrick Thomas received nominations.

The opening stems from the resignation of Sari Baldauf, a member since 2012, who decided to step down effective Dec. 1, 2017, “due to time requirements for fulfilling other roles and responsibilities,” according to AkzoNobel.

The EGM agenda with explanatory notes and the EGM notice will be updated accordingly to reflect that the July 24 nomination of Meurice – which Akzonobel said it doesn’t support due to feedback received from an independent search firm during the process – has been withdrawn by USS.
