PPG Exhibits Architectural Metal Coatings at FACADES+ Los Angeles

PPG said that its coil and building products business will exhibit at FACADES+ Los Angeles at The L.A. Hotel Downtown, Oct. 19-20. PPG representatives will provide information, answer questions and distribute literature about premium DURANAR and CORAFLON metal coatings throughout the two-day event.
 
PPG is marking the 50th anniversary of Duranar coatings, which helped revolutionize the architectural industry when they were introduced in 1967. As one of the first polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) coatings, Duranar coatings enabled architects to specify, for the first time, colorful metal coatings with exceptional chalk- and fade-resistance. Since their debut, these products have been chosen by renowned architects to protect and beautify landmark buildings around the world. These include First Interstate World Tower (now U.S. Bank Tower) in Los Angeles, the tallest building in California that is located just a few blocks from the FACADES+ Los Angeles event.
 
Other prominent structures finished with Duranar coatings include the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower) in New York, Shanghai World Financial Center in China, and Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 
PPG also will hand out its new Architectural Powder Coatings Color Guide, a six-page brochure featuring 60 commonly specified Coraflon powder coatings colors. Coraflon powder coatings are formulated to provide exceptional ultraviolet (UV) durability, colorfastness and gloss retention. They can adhere to metal as a one-coat paint system or function as a two-coat paint system with a primer for harsh environments.
 
Duranar and Coraflon coatings meet the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 2605 specification, the industry’s most rigorous performance standard for color retention, gloss retention and weathering performance for organic metal coatings.
