Artemis Capital Partners Acquires StanChem

StanChem, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals and coatings, was founded in 1968.

Boston-based Artemis Capital Partners, a private equity firm, bought StanChem, the latter announced Thursday.
 
StanChem, founded in 1968, is a manufacturer of specialty chemicals and coatings.
 
“Using the ‘Voice of our Customer’ as our guide, we are excited to systematically expand our R&D capabilities to deliver new emulsion polymers and Albi coatings to our new and existing customers, applications, and markets,” said Paul Stenson, PhD, StanChem’s vice president of Technology, Sales, & Marketing.
 
Dr. Michael Foley, Peter Hunter and James Ward of Artemis will join Stenson and Vice President of Operations, Stephen McGuff, on StanChem’s Board of Directors. Foley was tabbed as the company’s new chairman.
 
Artemis, founded in 2010, said it focuses on acquiring and growing manufacturers of differentiated industrial technologies such as specialty chemicals and materials.
