On February 29, 2024, during PV EXPO 2024, TÜV Rheinland, an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, entered into a partnership agreement with Nippon Paint. This agreement involves extensive collaboration in green and sustainable development, focusing on coatings, composite frame, photovoltaic (PV) modules and other tests and international certification services. Representatives from both parties attended the signing ceremony, including Robin Choi, Vice President, Group Technology Management of NIPSEA Group, Vincent Chen, Sales Director of NIPSEA Group Advanced Coatings, Seiichi Kumazaki, Manager of Technology Division, R&D Innovation of Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings and Tsutomu Seta, Project Leader of Technology Division, R&D Innovation of Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings. Also present was Weichun Li, Global Vice President of Power Electronics and General Manager of Solar & Commercial Products Greater China, TÜV Rheinland Group, and Vilmos Sztaroveczki, Vice President of Solar & Commercial Products, Asia pacific, TÜV Rheinland Group. In recent years, spurred by World’s “Carbon Neutrality Initiative,” energy conservation and carbon reduction have taken center stage across various industries. Within the PV sector, high-performance glass fiber-reinforced composites have gained significant attention in the market due to their exceptional strength and light weight. Nippon Paint is pioneering innovations in this area with the introduction of NP Sparlite, a high-performance, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly composite coating solution specifically designed to address inherent coating challenges in fiber-reinforced composites. Through collaborative efforts with TÜV Rheinland and other partners, the company is committed to tackling the challenges associated with global sustainable development. “Leveraging its global resources, Nippon Paint has been committed to innovation-driven growth. In recent years, we have escalated investments aimed at fostering a green ecosystem and facilitating industry advancement in a sustainable, low-carbon, and high-quality manner,” said Dr. Hong Jiang, Chief Technology Officer of NIPSEA Group. “As a technological leader in PV testing and certification, TÜV Rheinland is renowned for its rigorous and high-quality testing and certification services. The signing of this agreement signifies the strengthening of collaboration across multiple domains between the two companies, establishing a profound strategic partnership. Together, we will advocate for the industry’s high-quality and sustainable development, contribute to the global shift towards green energy, and provide reliable product safety support for Nippon Paint’s international market expansion.” Li Weichun, Global Vice President of Power Electronics and General Manager of Solar & Commercial Products Greater China, TÜV Rheinland Group, commented: “We are pleased to deepen our collaboration with Nippon Paint. The signing marks a significant milestone for both companies. As a leading figure in the coatings industry, Nippon Paint seeks to actively seize the opportunities presented by green development and remains dedicated to implementing green and low-carbon initiatives. TÜV Rheinland will continue to leverage its technological expertise, extensive experience and resources to provide Nippon Paint with rigorous quality certification and safety performance testing services to support its global expansion endeavors. Going forward, both parties will collectively drive technological innovation within the industry and together pave the way for a new era of high-quality green development.”
