Unilin Technologies launched the first PFAS-free formula for waterproof coatings that align with upcoming bans on harmful chemicals in products in the US and UK markets starting in 2025. The company conducted extensive research to develop a comprehensive patent portfolio to create different coating versions with different and distinct benefits. The patented coatings benefits include broad coverage on the use of pigmentation agents on specific HDF boards (US 11,739,537), protection of specific components on the coatings (US 11,473,315), and different application methods (US 11,746,537). These coatings act as a sustainable choice and reflect Unilin’s ongoing commitment to eco-conscious solutions and innovations. The PFAS-free Unicoat version will be available through Unilin partners PTS and Schiele Maschinenbau.
